Quick Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Website

In today’s online world, chances are you’re probably investing a lot of time, energy, and effort on your website. But, are you getting the results that you want? And, are you achieving your online business goals? If not, you may not be getting the most out of your website. Here are some quick tips that will help you get the most out of all your efforts.

Test, Test, and Test Some More

Let’s start with something basic – testing. The best way to get the most out of your website is to test what works and what doesn’t. There are so many different elements and ways you can test. Test your headlines, test your calls-to-action and test your different content formats.

For example, your audience may respond better to a video than they do to a graphic. Or maybe they prefer reviews over how-to articles. Testing is the only way to know what your audience prefers. Once you do know, then you can adapt your strategies and tactics. Split testing is often the easiest method to test (this is where you send different types of messages to different audiences).

Analytics

Now-a-days, using analytics is a website essential. It tells you who visits your site, how long they stay and what pages they visit (among other things). Analytics can also identify the organic keywords used to find your website. Really cool information to know, don’t you agree? A great “free” tool to use is Google Analytics. It’s easy to create an account and then you literally copy and paste a piece of code into your site.

Of course, just pasting code isn’t enough, though. You need to also review the analytics and base your strategies on the information found. For example, if you find the majority of your visitors come from a certain area, then you might want to create more content, promotions, and offers that appeal to that region.

Or let’s say you find out most of your traffic views your site using a mobile phone… then you definitely want to make sure your website is in a “responsive” format to accommodate the smaller screen size.

If you’re not encouraging participation, likes, sharing, comments, and interaction, then you’re not making the most of your site. Create systems and opportunities to connect that allow various types of interaction. Allowing others to make comments and share your content is a start.

When someone does make a comment, be sure to reply in a thoughtful manner that encourages more comments and feedback. There are plenty of plug-ins that can create forums, chat rooms, and social media participation that will help in facilitating engagement.

As you can see, the best way to get the most out of your site is by creating a stronger connection with your audience and visitors. By testing, using analytic tracking, and creating opportunities for interaction, you’ll definitely take your site to the next level in no time. And, it will strengthen your relationship with your audience and help increase traffic and opt-ins, as well as conversions and sales.
