How the 1st Responders Appreciation Squad started…
In 2023, God led Carmen Wisenbaker to start the “1st Responders Appreciation Squad” where she is the Volunteer Coordinator. The group shows 1st Responders (Firefighters and EMT’s in the Humble, Texas community), appreciation for their service through Specialty Books, a Prayer team, and an Appreciation Basket team that delivers baked goods and tasty treats periodically to each station and other projects throughout the year.
Our main objective is to lift the spirits of our 1st Responders and to let them know our community is behind them one hundred percent. We always try to find ways to encourage and support our 1st Responders in any way we can. They are very important to our community and we are so grateful they do what they do.
Showing gratitude and respect to those that serve our communities (in the Humble and Atascocita, Texas communities) in our times of need.
Thank you to our faithful Firefighters and EMT’s for always being there when we need you the most. We are so thankful for you!
We show thankfulness to our 1st Responders through various teams:
• Our PRAYER TEAM prays a simple prayer each time they hear a siren.
Our prayer is:
“Heavenly Father, we lift up these1st Responders responding to this call and those they are responding to. Lord, protect them all and if it be in your will—may all things go well. In Jesus Christ we pray.” —Amen
• Card Ministry – We also get together and write CARDS OF APPRECIATION which we deliver to each station we serve. And we write CARDS OF CONGRATULATIONS or other types of cards for different situations.
• Appreciation Basket Ministry – Our GOODIE BASKETS include lots of goodies, such as cookies, cupcakes, specialty breads, cakes, pies, etc. Our team bakes up some really tasty treats!
• Specialty Books – Published by Penworth Publishing, our books include Faith Based Books, Devotionals, Inspirational Books, and Specialty Coloring Books and Journals.
